Here are a few example themes I could use to create my website. These four are popular basic choices used for a website layout. These are: Masonry, Metro. Grid and Column. Screen Shot 2016-01-25 at 10.22.19Screen Shot 2016-01-25 at 10.31.16.png

This is the Masonry theme. This is a very popular choice as it can be used easily on Tablets and Phones because it is like a gallery which is easy to view because of the different sized boxes and scroll down on. It is used on popular social media sites such as Tumblr and Pinterest.

This is the metro theme. It uses different sized boxes of equal lengths and is similar to masonry. This is a popular choice for people who like variety.

Finally, this is the column theme. This is the most simplistic of all the themes. It also lacks the most imagination and is difficult to view on tablets and phones as you cannot view as many articles as you could using other themes. This is the theme I am least likely to choose.

Here are a few examples of blogs who use these themes:

This is the masonry theme as the person’s posts are positioned in different sizes and many are able to be viewed on one page.

This is an example of a theme that uses columns, less posts can be seen however the posts are much more enlarged and can be viewed easier without clicking further into the post.

This is an example of a metro theme. Commonly used for Windows 8 and other versions of Windows. It is easy to view everything on the page because of the differences in sizes and the most important things being in large boxes while others in smaller ones.

Finally, this is a grid theme, which is good for an organised-looking page while still having a lot of content on the one page. It can also be compact so the menu an be stationed wherever on the page and can be used in many different ways because of it’s versatility.

I believe I will use the masonry theme for my blog as it allows for versatility and many posts to be viewed at once. I can also adapt the style to my liking and looks unique and creative.
